Bear's Den

Bear's Den is a British folk rock band from London, formed in 2012. As a small band they toured around Europe and North America for two years. In the same year the band members start their first tour through America, they do this in style with several Volkswagen Campervans. The company with which the men toured are special. Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Staves are among them. A documentation has been made of this tour. Documentary filmmaker James Marcus Haney captures this journey in his film Austin To Boston (2014).

They tour the US several times, supporting Mumford & Sons, Daughter and as headliners. She also toured the UK as support for the Smoke Fairies in 2012. In 2014 they perform a sold out show in London. The music is carried by the beautiful acoustic sound and Andrew's sensitive voice. In 2014 Bear's Den releases their debut album 'Islands'. An album that is ethereal, almost airy, and while this serves to distract from the weight of his words, the power of the emotion is never lost. Their latest album 'Fragments' was released in collaboration with Paul Frith in 2020 and consists of renewed versions of previously released songs.

One of the band members, Joey Hanes, left the band in 2016 to spend more time with his family and friends. Bear's Den has been a duo ever since. During several performances, the band was joined by the Dutchman Christof van der Ven and some other session musicians.
