David Gilmour, geboren op 6 maart 1946 in Cambridge, Engeland, is een legendarische gitarist en songwriter, vooral bekend als mede-oprichter van de iconische band Pink Floyd. Zijn expressieve gitaarspel en warme stem zijn kenmerkend voor hits als "Comfortably Numb" en "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", die Pink Floyd tot wereldwijde roem hebben geleid.
