Kraftwerk is an influential German band founded in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. They are considered pioneers of electronic music and are known for their innovative use of synthesizers and drum machines. With their tight, futuristic style and visual presentations, they brought an entirely new sound to the pop and electronic music world.
Kraftwerk broke through internationally with albums such as Autobahn (1974) and Trans-Europe Express (1977), which were both critically and commercially successful. Their music has had a huge influence on genres such as techno, synthpop, hip hop, and modern electronic music. Despite changing lineups of the band, Hütter remained the creative heart of Kraftwerk. To this day, the band is praised for their groundbreaking contribution to music and their futuristic vision, which has inspired generations of artists worldwide.
