Iskander Moon is the musical alter ego of Belgian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Iskander Moens. With his warm vocals and cinematic sound, he effortlessly moves between indie folk, alternative pop and soulful singer-songwriter traditions. His music combines intimate storytelling with rich arrangements, drawing inspiration from artists such as Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Paolo Nutini and Tamino.
His diverse musical background forms the foundation of his distinctive sound. Iskander studied classical piano at MUDA before earning a master's degree in Music Production at KASK Conservatory. In his early twenties, he toured across Europe with Collegium Vocale Gent under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe, composed for the vocal ensemble Dionysos Now! and worked as a producer, songwriter and session musician with artists including Mooneye, The Starlings, Ibe, Camille, Lea Rue and Yves Paquet.
Following the release of his debut single Saturday Silence and the EP Are You Lost Here? (2024), Iskander Moon unveiled his long-awaited debut album Salt Moon City in 2026. Inspired by journeys to cities such as New York, Berlin and Florence, as well as a songwriting retreat in Sweden, the album explores themes of growing up, finding a sense of home and personal growth. With layered compositions, cinematic production and a captivating live presence, Iskander Moon continues to establish himself as one of Belgium's most promising singer-songwriters.
