Monique Smit

Monique Smit first gained national recognition through the reality series Gewoon Jan Smit and officially launched her music career in 2007 via the television programme Just the Two of Us. Shortly afterwards, she signed her first record deal and released her debut single Wild, establishing her own place within the Dutch pop music scene. In the years that followed, she released several singles, including the duet Eén zomeravond met jou with Tim Douwsma, building a loyal fanbase in both the Netherlands and Belgium. Alongside her music career, Monique is active as a presenter and has worked for programmes such as Zapp Kids Top 20 and various online shows. She also became a well-known name in children’s entertainment. With successful projects such as 2 Kleine Kleutertjes, KleuterPop and the festive concept KidsPop!, entire generations have grown up with her catchy children’s songs. With her recent single Carrousel, Monique once again showcases her recognisable, melodic and accessible style.
