Bij het grote publiek bekend als zanger van Snollebollekes, maar uitgegroeid tot een veelzijdig entertainer. Na zijn overwinning in De Slimste Mens in 2021 werd hij ook een vertrouwd gezicht op televisie, met programma’s als Chansons! (samen met Matthijs van Nieuwkerk), The Wheel en Ik Hou van Holland.
Zijn liefde voor de Franse muziek, en in het bijzonder Jacques Brel, loopt als een rode draad door zijn werk. In 2020 verscheen zijn boek 'Randverschijnselen', waarin hij vertelt over zijn leven naast Snollebollekes en zijn fascinatie voor Parijs.
