Winter Strings brings together three exceptional guitarists, each exploring the possibilities of the acoustic guitar through their own distinctive musical background. Scottish fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter Sam Grassie blends traditional and contemporary folk with influences from Celtic music, desert blues and Americana. Inspired by artists such as Bert Jansch, Jackson C. Frank and Ali Farka Touré, he has developed a distinctive style that combines virtuosic guitar playing with refined songwriting.
Dylan Fowler has been one of the United Kingdom's most versatile guitarists and composers for more than three decades. His music draws on Celtic traditions, European jazz, Scandinavian and Balkan music, as well as the rich musical heritage of Wales.
Joining them is Belgian guitarist and composer Haroun Iqbal, whose work brings together jazz, classical music, West African traditions and ragas. Together, the trio creates a unique musical dialogue where tradition, improvisation and contemporary composition meet.
United by a shared passion for acoustic music, these three guitarists deliver an atmospheric concert that effortlessly transcends genres and cultures.
